Young Esteban Ocon – Single-Seater Racing

By 2012, a 14-year-old the young Esteban Ocon shifted gears from karting to single-seater racing. He debuted in the French F4 Championship, securing four point-scoring finishes and finishing fourteenth in his inaugural season.

Not one to be confined, Ocon expanded his horizons in 2013, participating in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps series.

The subsequent years witnessed Ocon leaving an indelible mark in various Formula Renault and Formula 3 circuits, racking up wins and podium finishes.

Formula Three & Beyond

Ocon’s prowess was further cemented in 2013 when he joined the esteemed Prema Powerteam in the Formula Three category. His meteoric rise continued as he seized the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship title with three races in hand.

That year, he also showcased his versatility with a stint in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series for Comtec Racing.

GP3 & DTM Series

2015 saw Ocon shifting lanes to the GP3 series. True to form, he clinched the championship with an impressive lead of eight points. The following year, Mercedes-Benz roped him in for the DTM series.

Ocon also wore the hat of the reserve driver for the Renault F1 team, bringing his journey full circle with the brand that once supported his early career.
