Pierre Gasly is a French racing driver who currently competes in Formula One for the French team – Alpine. He has had a checkered career in which he has moments of brilliance balanced out by some very average performances.

Early Beginnings In Karting And Junior Racing
Gasly’s interest in motorsports began at a young age. When he was just six years old, he started racing karts. Gasly’s father was his coach and would take him to different tracks to practice. Gasly quickly became hooked on the sport, and his talent began to show.
At the age of 13, Gasly won his first karting championship. He then went on to win several more championships in the junior categories. In 2010, Gasly won the French KF3 championship, which opened the doors for him to compete in international competitions.
In 2011, Gasly competed in the KF2 category and finished second in the European Championship. He also competed in the World Cup and finished third. His impressive results caught the attention of many teams, and Gasly was offered a contract with the prestigious Red Bull Junior Team.
Pierre Gasly Formula Renault
Gasly’s success continued in the following years, as he won the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps Championship in 2013 and the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Championship in 2014.
These results helped him to progress to higher categories of racing.
Pierre Gasly GP2 Series
In 2014 Pierre made his GP2 series debut at the Monza circuit in support of Italian Grand Prix. Je replaced Tom Dillmann who was racing elsewhere and could not be at the event.
He signed with the French GP2 team to race alongside the British driver Alex Lynn.
He contracted as the development driver for the Williams F1 Team.
Even though he won three pole starting positions and achieved four podiums it was a difficult season for Gasly.
He was involved in collisions in Bahrain, Spa and Yas Marina (which got the subsequent race cancelled.)
He ended the season in 8th place which was two places behind teammate Lynn.
In 2016 Gasly switched to Prema Powerteam where he partnered with the 2015 European Formula 3 runner-up and GP2 rookie Antonio Giovinazzi.
Japanese Super Formula
In 2017 he raced in the Japanese Super Formula where he drove a Red Bull-sponsored Honda. He win two consecutive races, however the final round was cancelled because of typhoon Lan.
Pierre Gasly Formula E
Pierre raced on one formula E event in 2017 at the 2017 New York ePrix.
He qualified in 19th position, however finished the race in 7th.
Pierre Gasly F1
Pierre’s first break in F1 came at Toro Rosso.

While he was racing in the previously mentioned season, he had been inducted into the Red Bull Junior Team for the 2014 Formula One season.
In 2017 Gasly was selected as a test driver for the Red Bull Racing team and was also competing in the GP2 series.
In 2017, Gasly was called up to replace Daniil Kvyat at the Scuderia Toro Rosso team for the Malaysian Grand Prix. Gasly made an impressive debut, finishing 14th in his first race. He then went on to finish 13th in the Japanese Grand Prix and 12th in the Mexican Grand Prix.
Move to Red Bull Racing and first podium finish.
Gasly’s performances in the 2017 season caught the attention of the Red Bull Racing team, and he was promoted to the team as a full-time driver for the 2019 season. He replaced Daniel Riccardo and was slated to run alongside Max Verstappen.
Gasly’s promotion to Red Bull Racing was a significant achievement for him, as it is one of the top teams in Formula One.
Pierre Gasly Fired
Gasly’s first season with Red Bull Racing was a challenging one. He struggled to find his feet in the team and was unable achieve and decent results.
The outcome of this is that he was demoted back to the Toro Rosso where he swapped placed with Alex Albon, who did not have much more luck and was ultimately replaced by Sergio Pérez.
Scuderia AlphaTauri
which was rebranded as Scuderia AlphaTauri. During his rime he helped the team perform above its normal ability, and in some instances, he outperformed Alex Albon at Red Bull.
Pierre achieved and impressive 9th position in the 2021 driver championships.
In 2022 he ended the season in 14th position in the drivers’ championship.
Pierre Joined Alpine For The 2023 Season
For the 2023 Pierre has moved over to the French team, Alpine.
After the first two races in 2023 he is placed 11th position in the drivers’ championship and has earned 4 points.
