Helmut Marko and Red Bull team principal have repeatedly said that they are keeping an eye on Lando Norris for a potential move to Red Bull. It looks like McLaren have conducted a rear-guard action to keep Landi in board.

McLaren has confirmed that they are in the midst of discussions with Lando Norris regarding the British driver’s future beyond his existing contract. This runs until the conclusion of the 2025 season.

While his teammate, Oscar Piastri, recently signed a new deal keeping him at McLaren until the end of 2026. Both agreements provide a degree of stability for the team as it continues its rebuilding efforts.

Despite being highly regarded, Norris has been linked with potential moves to Red Bull and Ferrari. However, in an interview with SpeedCafe.com McLaren’s team principal, Andrea Stella, emphasized the team’s desire to retain the services of the 23-year-old driver.

“We are certainly having conversations with Lando,” Stella affirmed. “They are good conversations, and we are happy with how these conversations are going.”

McLaren has experienced a season with ups and downs, rebounding impressively after a sluggish start. Norris secured four second place finishes in the last seven races.
