About Us: My First Taste of F1’s Thrills at 19

About us 1979 F1 Kyalami Jody Schecter

The initial encounter with the electrifying world of Formula 1 happened when I was a mere 19-year-old. It was 1979, and I found myself at Kyalami, South Africa, eagerly anticipating Jody Scheckter’s performance in his iconic Ferrari 312t4.

As fate would have it, Jody emerged victorious in that race, clinching not just the checkered flag but also the prestigious world drivers’ championship. That single moment ignited a fiery passion within me, forever binding me to the sport.

In the years that followed, I counted myself fortunate to partake in numerous F1 spectacles across the globe, from the glitz of Abu Dhabi to the historic tracks of Silverstone, Melbourne, Imola, and the legendary Nürburgring.”

About Us: The 2021 Season

I Witnessed the Drama Unfold at Abu Dhabi in 2021

I found myself amidst the thrilling clash between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi 2021, a race where one rogue official’s actions led to a conclusion that left me deeply disappointed. (To clarify, the disappointment lay in how the points were awarded, not the actual outcome of the race!)

In that moment, my heart felt shattered, and I questioned whether I could continue my passionate pursuit of this sport. But as I took a step back, engaged in some soul-searching, a revelation dawned upon me – this is the essence of Formula 1.

It’s a magnificent sport governed by humans who are susceptible to errors. And, oddly enough, that’s what adds an irresistible layer of unpredictability, making F1 truly one-of-a-kind.
