By the age of 13, Young Pierre Gasly celebrated his first karting championship victory. The momentum carried on, and in 2010, he clinched the French KF3 championship title, propelling him into international competitions.

Gasly’s trajectory continued its upward arc, with back-to-back wins in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps Championship in 2013 and the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Championship in 2014. This string of successes accelerated his ascent to the racing elite.

2014 also marked Gasly’s GP2 series debut at the iconic Monza circuit during the Italian Grand Prix weekend. Filling in for Tom Dillmann, who was committed elsewhere, Gasly showcased his mettle. Soon after, he teamed up with the British driver, Alex Lynn, for the French GP2 team and simultaneously took on the role of a development driver for the Williams F1 Team. However, challenges punctuated his journey, including on-track collisions in Bahrain, Spa, and Yas Marina. Despite achieving three pole positions and four podium finishes, Gasly wrapped up the season in 8th place, narrowly trailing teammate Lynn.

Seeking fresh horizons, 2016 saw Gasly align with Prema Powerteam, collaborating with 2015 European Formula 3 runner-up, Antonio Giovinazzi.

Japanese Adventures and Formula E Stints

In 2017, Gasly delved into the Japanese Super Formula, piloting a Red Bull-sponsored Honda. He impressively bagged two consecutive race victories, though the final round was curtailed due to Typhoon Lan.

That same year, Gasly dipped his toes into the electric racing waters of Formula E, competing at the 2017 New York ePrix. Despite a 19th place start, Gasly showcased his overtaking prowess to finish an impressive 7th.

From humble karting beginnings to diverse international circuits, Pierre Gasly’s racing story underscores dedication, talent, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
