Max Verstappen was born in Belgium on September 1, 1997.
He began his racing career at a very young age, beginning karting at 8 years old.
By the time he reached 15 years old, he had won numerous karting titles across Europe.
This attracted the attention of Formula 1 teams and in 2013, he made his debut in the Formula 3 European Championship. He finished third overall in the championship and moved to Formula 1 in 2015 with Scuderia Toro Rosso.
