Nico Hülkenberg is a highly accomplished German racing driver who has made a name for himself in the world of motorsports. He began his racing career at a young age, starting with karting before moving on to compete in various FIA racing disciplines. Currently, Hülkenberg is driving for the Haas team and is expected to continue making waves in the racing world for years to come.
Hülkenberg has had a varied career in Formula One as listed below.
Hulkenberg’s success in the GP2 Series caught the attention of the Williams Formula One team, who signed him as their test and reserve driver for the 2009 season.
He is driving for the Haas F1 racing team for the 2023 season, where he is driving alongside Kevin Magnussen.
He finally made his Formula One debut in 2010, driving for the Williams team.
He had a very impressive start in his first season when he achieved his first pole position in his tenth race, at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Unfortunately he did not finish the race as he crashed with Force India driver Vitantonio Liuzzi.
He finished his first season with 22 points in the drivers’ championship. This earned fourteenth place in his rookie year in the championship standings.
For the 2011 season , Hulkenberg moved to the Force India team, where he competed for two seasons.
He scored his first podium finish in the 2012 season, at the Belgian Grand Prix, where he finished in third place.
He finished the 2012 season with 63 points which earned him eleventh place in the drivers’ championship standings, with 63 points.
In 2013, Hulkenberg moved to the Sauber team, where he competed for one season.
He finished the season in tenth place in the championship standings, with 51 points.
In 2014, Nico returned to the Force India team, where he remained until 201. He had several strong seasons with the team, finishing in eighth place in the championship standings in 2014 and 2016.
For the 2017 season Nico moved over to the Renault F1 team. He needed the 2017 year in 10th place in the driver championships.
Nico remained with Renault for the 2018 year, when he drove alongside Carlos Sainz, he finished the season as the “champion of the rest” in 7th place in the drivers’ championship with 69 points.
He completed the 2019 season (where he drove alongside Daniel Ricciardo) in a lowly 14th place in the drivers championships, This was his worst result since he debuted in 2010.
Hülkenberg was replaced by Mercedes reserve driver and former Force India driver Esteban Ocon for the 2020 season.
In 2020 he joined the racing point team as the reserve driver where he replaced Sergio Pérez after Pérez tested positive for SARS-2 coronavirus.
This happened again at the Silverstone circuit.
For 2021 to 2022 he remained as the reserve and development driver for Racing point(which had now changed its name to Aston Martin,
